[00:00:01] You excited?
[00:00:03] You should be. Big news today from the Atlanta Braves. The Braves Vision television network has been launched and we've been waiting for this for a while. We knew it was coming and this is just the first step of some awesome stuff that is about to happen for Braves fans, for Braves country everywhere.
[00:00:21] Just want to note, people did a lot of work over the last couple of months to make this happen. They were absolutely grinding and long hours to get this thing up and running with really all of us. But certainly the audience in mind for Brace fans and trying to get this thing right. They understand how important it is. I think you guys are going to be thrilled with some of more news that'll be coming out here eventually when it comes to distribution and streaming. The Atlanta Braves just absolutely crushed this thing. So this is going to be fun. It's kind of been a long time coming. I think we knew we were going to get there sooner or later, but it came a little bit quicker than expected. So that's why people had to work as hard as they did. But we all certainly appreciate it. And for like the one billionth time, as far as what you see in in front of the came Brandon and I French, everyone's back. Wiley. Wiley actually will be here tomorrow for a spring training game. So it's not going to look any different as far as the faces and the voices go.
[00:01:14] Different logo, different name. But other than that, it's going to be your same Braves coverage that you've seen over these last couple of years. So, man, we are just so, so excited. Gretchen Kaney, who you hear us talk about a lot, who is our producer in the truck, has been a huge help in this as well for the Braves and is taking on even more important role if there is such a thing as what's happening with the network. And we are thrilled for her because she is a lifelong Braves fan, has been with the organization in one facet or another since 2001 and this was kind of the dream and so the dream has come true and everybody takes this really seriously.
[00:01:52] And so we're excited, we're excited for her, we're excited for everybody. Maybe a few more toys that we get to play with this year on the production side. We'll see how that works out. And yeah, I'm absolutely pushing for some maybe I don't maybe Sidearm Sourdough so I can get Peter Moylan and Darren O' Day involved the 30 minute show on Saturdays. I'm kidding. I have no idea what the other network stuff looks like. We are focused on the Braves Kings, but I don't doubt there's going to be incredible content up and down the line. So just a really great day for the organization, a great day for Braves country and more good news will be coming along the way.
[00:02:26] They've just done really, really nice work. So we're excited about that game today. One o' clock game we got the Detroit Tigers. Ronaldo Lopez is going to be starting. You're actually going to see four starters today that are scheduled to go a couple of innings a piece. It'll be Wentz, it'll be Ronaldo. I mentioned it will be Owen Murphy who I'm excited to see throw and why am I drawing. Oh, and Grant Holmes will be throwing as well. So it'll be four starters hopefully going through eight innings today and four starters that eventually can help this team. So that is some guys will be in the rotation this year and some maybe in the future. I'm excited to see Owen Murphy. I generally don't get too over excited about about some of the prospect stuff. We saw J.R. richie the other day. He looked really good. Owen Murphy's numbers have been terrific in the minor leagues.
[00:03:19] I think he's on as well. I think Richie's probably in front of him just because he's played at a higher level as far as the minor league levels go. But you look at some of those numbers and some of the things that Owen Murphy has done, I'm excited to see him firsthand. So hopefully we get that for a couple of really clean innings today. Be a really good time. Also big news that we're waiting on. We knew something was coming.
[00:03:40] The Braves do an unbelievable job of keeping things in house without leaks. That's one of the things I really admire about the organization. But we knew something was coming today. Yesterday we started hearing some rumblings but really had no idea. We were just keeping our fingers crossed that was going to be good news. That was the the most important thing based on how spring has gone so far and it is good news. Chris Sale an extension for 2027. So one more year added on. He pitched the other day. It looked really good. Something he mentioned we talked about on the broadcast wanting to get started a little bit earlier in the spring training. He felt like maybe the slow start to do with not gearing it up quick enough. In spring training you're always making adjustments even for the greats like Chris Sale. So he looked really good but exciting for us that we know he'll be back in 2027. He spoke to the media this morning and mentioned how quickly this thing came together. I thought that was really interesting from Chris Sale. In this day and age, he's no nonsense, right? I mean, he's exactly who you want a veteran pitcher to be. And it came up where he mentioned it a couple of weeks ago and wanting to finish his career here, Alex Anthopoulos concurred. They got together with his agen and according to Chris Elle knocked it out in like a week, which is just incredible by today's standards. So that is really, really good news and hopefully some more good news coming. But the big one of the day that the Braves are launching their own television network, Braves Vision is here now. The games that are happening in spring training are right now the first 10 of those great games that we have.
[00:05:09] And I think we'll have something else at the end of spring training that'll be a little bit more geared toward the new network. And then opening day will be here before you know it. So good day for sure. I'm headed to the ballpark right now on this two lane road that never, ever seems to end. And I haven't counted, but I think there's somewhere between 40 and 45 lights from where I'm staying until I eventually get to the ballpark. But a good day today for Braves Country. Tune into the game 1 o' clock Eastern Time on Gray. Ronaldo Lopez getting the start against the Detroit Tigers. Should be a good one. Have a great day, everybody.
