[00:00:02] Well, that's a wrap on 2025.
[00:00:06] It's a weird day today. It was like kind of a fun day. Even though it was the end of a season that we didn't want to see happen.
[00:00:12] At the same time, the whole Charlie Morton stuff was. Was pretty incredible.
[00:00:17] Fans did a great job and kind of giving him the do that he deserved. The Braves did an amazing job. I think our TV people did a really nice job making sure he got honored as well. But, man, that was. That was emotional. Today.
[00:00:29] Players careers end all the time. We don't even know if Charlie's necessarily done. I think he might be, but certainly not for me to say.
[00:00:36] Either way, that was. That was a cool day at the ballpark for a team and a season that wasn't going to end the way that we wanted it to.
[00:00:44] That was at least something that was eventful, cool to watch. Crusade was amazing, unselfish. Of course, we knew that going in and his decision to kind of handle it the way that he did. We had a lot of fun. Excuse me. During the seventh inning stretch, we had some stuff that was still in the. In the. In the broadcast booth. A bunch of bobbleheads to go along. Cracker Jacks. And the interaction with you guys and I mentioned at the end of the broadcast, it is sincere. Brandon and I and Wy were all so extremely appreciative of you all. This is a different experience. You know, I did seven years in Texas and it was a good fan base and good people.
[00:01:19] This is at a whole nother level of how big it is, how deep it runs. The interaction with you guys, whether it's at the ballpark, on social media.
[00:01:26] I really do appreciate all the positive comments and notes and when we're leaving. I've said this multiple times, but it is not lost on me how important this broadcast booth is. And it really is humbling to be accepted here and to be able to call these games and have such a great team to work with here at FanDuel. So, yeah, guys were awesome. Met some fans on the way out, which was really nice.
[00:01:48] Took some pictures, all that good stuff. But yeah, that's it. That kind of stinks. The season is over. It's so weird. It never can't tell as it go fast, does it go slow? Some of the things that happened earlier feel like years ago.
[00:01:59] At the same time, you feel like there's also unfinished business.
[00:02:03] I'm excited for the off season and we're not going anywhere. I'll always be on social media. I'm Thinking about trying to find something to do, maybe on video throughout the off season with some consistency to stay connected. But it's going to be an interesting one for sure. We got to get through the postseason and then of course, things are going to kick off.
[00:02:18] But this team's going to be in a good spot next year. How they add, where they add big decisions to make in a lot of different places for sure, but this court is in a tremendous spot right now. When we talk about what we have, especially with this offense, the starting pitching, there are definitely some holes to fill, but I don't say it because I call games for the Braves. There was so much optimism. Remember, kind of some of the predictions going into the year for those that do that kind of thing and who they thought this team was going to be with the roster that they had second most wins in baseball was what was predicted, only behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. It didn't work out that way, obviously. But I think the bigger point is that this is a group that runs deep and has the opportunity to do a lot of damage. So I can't wait. I love what I do. I love the game. I love covering this team in particular.
[00:03:05] And I'm excited to kind of track the off season with you guys. I mentioned it. I think Hassan Kim is that first kind of decision.
[00:03:11] We'll keep our fingers crossed that he exercises his player option. Could they maybe extend him and do it that way? There's a lot of different ways to look at it. Does he want to do one year to have that bounce back before he hits free agency again? I think that's possible as well. Who knows? There's a lot to get into in a lot of different spots, but it's going to be fun.
[00:03:28] Hate to say Goodbye here for 2025, but in a weird way, it was a fun season. And I did say to Brandon, you know, for him when he stepped in here that first year, this team obviously dominated historic offense. I think last year when he started to see some struggles and the team barely getting the postseason, you start to realize, hey, it's not always going to be great. And then we were talking after the game, walking to our cars, about how a season like this, it's somewhat encouraging that we can still have fun, that we can still enjoy coming to the ballpark every day. And a lot of that has to do with two things. One, I think everybody you surround yourself with, what kind of people we hire, that we work with are fun. They're good teammates.
[00:04:05] They're there to put on a good broadcast. They love the work. Right. It's not a lot of complaining, whining, bitching, that kind of stuff. Like everyone's supporting each other. That's fantastic. And then also, to be honest, even though the wins weren't there, this team didn't lose ugly. I've seen bad baseball, I've participated in a part of bad baseball, but there wasn't the sloppiness like some of the things that we saw with the Pirates over this past series. And so the fact that even though the winds weren't there, the baseball was generally clean with all the injuries, it does make it a little bit easier. And I can't imagine a scenario in which this team gets to that point anytime soon. So that also makes it a little bit easier. But anyway, just one final thank you.
[00:04:42] I don't even mind sitting in a little bit of traffic. That means there's a lot of people here enjoying the game, and that's probably the most important thing. But we'll continue to be at it. We're going to try some fun things in the off season. Still kind of working on some ideas and ironing those out, but we'll stay connected for sure. I love what I do and I love interacting with you all. So thank you again for tremendous support, not just from me, but from everybody on our broadcast. Braves country is absolutely amazing and I am blessed to be a part of it. Thank you all.
